Hello! こんにちは!
Hi folks, I'm Ethan, and I'll be your webmaster this evening.
I'm a full-time college student and part-time employee at the YMCA. I'm
currently studying Computer Science, and still trying to figure out what my plan is job-wise. Probably sys-admin.
I love to code little doo-dads, play video games, and listen to music.
I'm currently learning Japanese
and have been since late 2023. 私は未だ新人ですね…
This website has been up since 2022. It's gone through a couple iterations before I settled on this one.
As you can see, I'm nostalgtic for a time I was barely alive for. A lot of this website is based to look like Windows XP, which was a small but important part of my childhood.
I hope you enjoy your stay here! If you wanna chat (YAY!!), contact info is at the bottom of the site!
My button! My glorious button! Just copy and paste the code below into your site's HTML :D
I'll probably make a better version of it, I don't really enjoy how grainy it look right now. It'll auto update on your site in the future if you use the code above though, so that's cool.
Special thanks to my fabulous girlfriend Aida (and really all my friends!) for helping with general feedback and encouragement. I'm really grateful for all the support I've gotten from everyone, and I'm glad to have such a great group of people around me ☆*: .。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
Thanks to oldwindowsicons.tumblr.com for collecting and putting together a comprehensive database of old Windows icons! I use them all over the site, and they're a great resource for trying to look up specific icons, especially considering how random the names of the original dll files are.
Q: What's with the background?
A: So. I'm a huge fan of the original Windows XP Bliss wallpaper, and I wanted to make a version of it that was a little more... dynamic; and something that was my own, of course.
So I made a day and night version of it! The shot was captured in Blender and then dithered to look grainy and have less colors overall. The movement was made by cycling between two layers of dithering!
Here are the original renders I made if you're curious:
Day Render | Night Render
Q: Why didn't you just use XP.css? / Have you heard of it?
A: ...
I might not have known that it existed until recently. That's okay though...
I'm happy that I hardcoded all my css, it makes it more unique!
